Why is there a cost associated with this product? It seems to me that this is a very sub-par version of Google Latitude which does not charge for there product and which is far more superior than the product that you are offering?
How long has your company been in business for?
Are you a publicly traded company?
If so, how are you listed on the exchanges?
What kind of anti-spam and virus protection do you offer for my mobile device?

Google Latitude is a free application because they can't charge for something that doesn't work. Their commercials claim that it is accurate when really it does not place you anywhere near your real location (that is why they let you manually choose your location) and it updates hourly......... that sounds like a sub-par application to me.

Maybe you should try both and then compare. Being an informed consumer will eliminate misconceptions like these generated by fancy false advertising.

Thanks you two for the opportunity for a great discussion.

Cellflare offers both a free and paid version.

Now I have tested both Google Latitude and Cellflare and I can say that Latitude doesn not locate in real time. On the 7 phones I had going at once, their locations updated randomly and only 1 out of the 7 were anywhere near their actual spot. That is why they let you select your location manually..... thats cheating if you ask me.

Also, Google latitude does not offer our features. Cellflare can tell you the speed you are travelling as you are being located, GL does not. We have a history feature that allows you to retrace your recent adventures, again no sign of that with GL. Quick Locate is also a handy tool for unregistered users as they can peek at your whereabouts with your permission. This is great for unhip parents who won't have Cellflare but want to make sure their kids arrived at the party.

These fetures mentioned are offered on the free version. The $15 a month version comes with even more perks including GeoFence and longer history tracking (to name a few).

I could go on for days about the differences between the two apps. Basically, Cellflare is not a sub-par version of Google Latitude. I feel the google app is made more for fun as it can be useful but not reliable. Cellflare is great for both business and pleasure... as it is in real time.

One last thing... We are a privately funded company.

Try Cellflare for yourself, you will see what I mean.

I have never experienced any problems with the Latitude application. And I would rather go with a company that is known worldwide then some organization that might not be around the next time I blink. You can switch from map to satellite view, display real-time traffic conditions, zoom in and out, get directions, or search for a business name, all directly from the map screen on Latitude.According to Google, Latitude shows locations within an area between 800 and 1,800 meters, which translates to a distance of between four-tenths and three-fourths of a mile. It's essentially a circle with that distance as a radius; the person could be anywhere in that circle. By contrast, GPS has an accuracy of about 10 meters.

Cellflare users are located with an accurate dot rather than located within a radius. Also, 800 to 1,800 meters is not all that accurate. That means you can be diplayed a whole mile away from your actual location. Yikes! It sounds like Google works great in theory but from my experience using it, I found it does not deliver what is advertised.

But we always welcome feedback from others because we understand that people will be curious about the difference between various LBS applications. We encourage users to try us out and see for themselves how we locate accurately and in real time.

Maybe you should try it before you pass judgment.

Take a look as us now, still alive and kicking. We just did a shoot for The Discovery Channels "Daily Planet" show. We are being featured on CP24 Webnation show this Wednesday here in Canada. Our app is now free and version 3.0 is up on iTunes, Backberry App world, the Palm store and several other outlets worldwide.
As far as i know Google over the last 12 months no longer advertises Latitude.
